Effective clinical reasoning requires a sufficient knowledge of the biomedical sciences. Giving students opportunities to contextualise learning by using clinical cases, should help them make links between basic and clinical sciences more readily. We used Storyline 360 to develop realistic immersive clinical scenarios, to present pre-clinical medical students with multidisciplinary problem-solving practical activities. Qualitative analysis of student feedback responses revealed six key features that students found helpful for their learning: 1) clinical focus, 2) integration of multiple basic science disciplines, 3) group work, 4) hybrid delivery, 5) the support written material, and 6) independence for exploration and critical thinking.
