Welcome to APICA / ANZACA 2023

Iphone

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the combined 10th congress of the Asia Pacific International Congress of Anatomists (APICA) and 20th Annual Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Clinical Anatomists (ANZACA). The theme is "Reconnect." This is a prestigious event that brings together anatomists from all over the world to share their expertise and knowledge, and we are delighted to have you here as a part of this remarkable community.

As we navigate the challenges of the past few years, the importance of reconnecting has become increasingly evident. We recognize that the pandemic has disrupted our daily lives and routines, and we hope that this conference will serve as a platform for us to reconnect with our colleagues, our research, and ourselves.

Over the course of this congress, we have assembled a distinguished group of speakers and experts in the field of anatomy. Through presentations, discussions, and workshops, we hope to provide you with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the field of anatomy, and encourage you to reconnect with your passion for this discipline.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the various networking opportunities available at the conference, where you can reconnect with old acquaintances and make new connections. We believe that the friendships and collaborations forged at this congress will pave the way for future collaborations and advancements in the field of anatomy.

Once again, we extend our warmest welcome to you, and we look forward to reconnecting with you in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Abstracts

You are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the Organising Committee for presenting at the 2023 APICA and ANZACA joint conference.

  • Abstracts are invited for Podium (oral) or Poster presentations. Although author preferences for the presentation category (Podium or Poster) will be taken into consideration, the final presentation format will be made at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
  • All abstract submissions must be made through the abstract portal by 17 September 2023.
Abstracts will be reviewed at the end of each month to ensure you are able to make travel arrangements.
  • If your abstract is accepted following review, you must also register to attend the conference in person.
  • Accepted abstracts (Podium and Poster) will be published as congress proceedings in Anatomy, the official journal of the Turkish Society of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy
  • Abstracts previously published or presented at a comparable international conference to the APICA and ANZACA joint conference will be rejected.

Notice of acceptance will be sent to submission authors approximately 2 weeks after the end of the month following submission.
If authors require an early decision to facilitate travel arrangements, we can accommodate requests for expedited review.
The submitted abstracts will be accepted after a blinded peer-review evaluation. During the peer-review process, the reviewers may request some necessary changes to the submitted abstract.

Symposia

You are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the Organising Committee for a focused symposium at the 2023 APICA and ANZACA joint conference.

All symposia abstract submissions must be made by 31 July 2023. The abstracts will be published as congress proceedings in Anatomy, the official journal of the Turkish Society of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy.

The Organising Committee invite proposals for symposia that reflect the breadth and variety of anatomical interests. The intent for each session is to provide a forum for speakers to explore a topic that will engage specialists in the field and inform those new to it. These sessions are distinguished from other organised sessions in that they are more explicitly integrated and provide an overall synthesis on the topic.

Proposals are encouraged to address the conference theme (Reconnect) if appropriate, but doing so is not mandatory. The sessions will provide ANZACA and APICA members with a unique opportunity to showcase their work at the conference.
